Norway’s Stolt-Nielsen has dismissed claims of an attack on one of its chemical tankers by the Houthi militia in Yemen.
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said over the weekend that the group had targeted Dutch unit Stolt Tankers’ Liberia-flagged, 37,600-dwt Stolt Sequoia (built 2003) in the Indian Ocean with a number of cruise missiles.
“Reports of the Stolt Sequoia having been attacked by Yemeni Armed Forces are false,” Stolt-Nielsen chief financial officer Jens Gruner‑Hegge told TradeWinds.
