Proman Shipping and Stena Bulk have announced a new joint venture to build and own methanol-fuelled tankers.
The news comes days after TradeWinds cited shipbuilding sources as saying Sweden's Stena was said to be entering the methanol tanker sector with an order for newbuildings that will also run on the fuel.
It was said to have linked a letter of intent for up to four 50,000-dwt methanol carriers at its favourite Chinese shipbuilder, Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI).
