Shipowners Sinokor Merchant Marine and Oman Shipping have homed in on VLCC berth space at DSME, locking away up to eight slots at the South Korean yard.
DSME revealed on Monday that it had inked contracts for four VLCCs worth KRW 410bn ($365m) and ignited market gossip about who was behind the orders.
It has now emerged that compatriot Sinokor has finalised a deal with the Okpo-based yard group to construct four firm 320,000-dwt, scrubber-fitted tankers for delivery in 2021.
