A UAE tanker has been boarded and robbed by armed pirates off Indonesia.

The 107,000-dwt aframax GP T2 (built 1997) was attacked in the early hours of Monday off Indonesia, the Singapore-based Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP) said.

The vessel, operated by Silver Star Ship Management, was six miles north-east of Batam Island, Indonesia, in the Singapore Strait.
