India’s government has rubber-stamped a plan to split up Shipping Corp of India (SCI) ahead of privatisation.

The ET Now website reported that the Ministry of Corporate Affairs has approved a revised demerger plan to separate non-core assets into a new company, Shipping Corp of India Land & Assets.

This includes SCI’s Shipping House headquarters in Mumbai, a training institute and other non-shipping assets.
