The Greek tanker owner Sea World Management & Trading has sold its first vessel in the sale-and-purchase market in six years in a deal that contributes to fleet renewal.
Brokers in the US said the company has sold the 47,000-dwt Sea Halcyone (built 2001) to an undisclosed buyer.
The Onomichi Dockyard-built tanker has fetched a price of $8.3m. That's somewhat higher than VesselsValue's estimate that a vessel of the Sea Halcyone's characteristics is worth just $6.2m.
