A Scottish port authority has scrapped a plan for ship-to-ship (STS) tanker transfers in the Moray Firth.
The BBC reported that Invergordon's Port of Cromarty Firth said it would not now seek a licence for the operations, which had been beset by protests.
Environmental opponents were concerned about the pollution risk caused by any spills.
