Scorpio Tankers is poised to take a minority stake in Connecticut-based ballast water treatment contractor Ecochlor and use its kits to equip a portion of the fleet.
The Emanuele Lauro-led company announced today that it has signed an agreement to buy 55 ballast water treatment systems from the ballast-water specialist.
Installations are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2018 and continue to the end of 2022.
