Russian shipowner Sovcomflot, mentioned in respect of the purchase of Libyan tankers, has officially denied involvement.
It refused to comment yesterday when the rumour spread.
But today in a statement it said, “SCF Group (Sovcomflot) notes the media speculation linking it with the possible acquisition of Libyan shipping company General National Maritime Transport Company (GNMTC).
“Such speculation is entirely inaccurate and SCF Group confirms that neither it, nor any of its subsidiaries, has any plans whatsoever to acquire GNMTC or any of its assets.”
