A cluster of tankers in an anchorage off the Russian port of Ust-Luga includes six aframaxes hit by Western sanctions — a number that could grow as they struggle to find alternative employment, according to data analyst Vortexa.

The six have all been hit by sanctions imposed since February by the US, UK and European Union and are among 54 unique vessels currently blacklisted by the three sanctions regimes owing to links to Russian oil trading that finances its invasion of Ukraine.
