There are fears pirates could be using a hijacked VLCC to test sea conditions off southern Somalia as the ship is mysteriously moved from the coast.
The 319,000-dwt Samho Dream(built 2002) has inexplicably shifted to about 80 miles east of its previous position at the notorious pirate hideout of Hobyo in Puntland.
It appears, however, that the Marshall Islands-flagged tanker has not been freed as naval sources say a pirate skiff is still visible onboard.
