Russian oil export revenues surged to their highest levels since October after prices smashed the crude price cap that was aimed at limiting Russia’s war chest for Ukraine, according to the International Energy Agency.
Revenues in August were up $1.8bn from the previous month to reach $17.1bn, despite a fall in the volume of exported barrels. Prices have surged in the wake of production cuts by Saudi Arabia and Russia.
