The US-led Ukraine peace initiative achieved its biggest step thus far on Tuesday with the announcement of a truce in the maritime and energy sectors.
Washington said it had reached separate agreements with Russia and Ukraine during talks in Saudi Arabia initiated by President Donald Trump, according to a report by Reuters.
The truce follows separate phone calls last week between Trump and his two counterparts, Vladimir Putin of Russia and Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine.
