The number of new VLCCs seeking to carry a clean cargo on their debut voyages from Asia is shrinking as rates rise for dirty tankers.
French shipbroker BRS Group said that ship tracking data shows fewer and fewer owners opting to load products on their newbuildings.
VLCC rates have risen sharply in recent months, the Paris shop said.
