Tankers that deliberately flout the Russian crude oil price cap should face more robust penalties including being banned from European Union ports, says a Finland-based research group.
Under measures introduced on 5 December by the European Union, domestic insurers are able to continue covering tankers carrying Russian crude to non-EU and UK destinations but only if the sale price is below $60 a barrel.
