Tanker owners facing the dismal summer rates are getting some relief from low oil prices that are keeping the cost of bunkers low.
Tanker brokerage MJLF says fuel prices are flirting with the $200-per-tonne level in some key tanker ports.
The price of bunkers in Houston, for example, came in at $204 per tonne this week, a 9.7% fall from this time two weeks ago, the Connecticut tanker brokerage's data show.
