Norway's Rederiet Stenersen is in the process of lining up an order for up to six dual-fuelled chemical tankers at China’s AVIC Dingheng Shipbuilding.
Some brokers said the deal involves six 18,000-dwt ships, although others said it involves two newbuildings plus options for four more.
If all six ships are built at the estimated $29m price tag for each newbuilding, the deal would be worth $174m.
