According to the agency’s latest list ofport detentions Premuda’s 94,000-dwt tanker Four Bay (built 1994) was held byinspectors late last month for burning fuel with a sulphur content above 1% inthe North American Emissions Control Area (ECA).
The USCG wrote:
“The master could not provide the properdocumentation that efforts were made to procure compliant fuel oil and thatnotifications to the United States and the vessel’s flag administration weremade prior to entering the North American ECA in accordance with Marpol AnnexVI, Regulation 18.”
