A leading US tanker broker say the state-controlled firm has hired the 76,600-dwt BW Hudson (built 2007) from BW Shipping to transport jet fuel from Kuwait to Brazil in a deal that is believed to worth nearly $2.7m.

The premium is slightly lower than what Petrobras is said to have paid to pick up Andromeda Shipping’s 115,500-dwt Orange Stars (built 2011) for a voyage from the West Coast of India to South America with a cargo of gasoil, observers note.
