Performance Shipping has chartered out one of its ships to Teekay Tankers.
The New York-listed, Athens-based aframax specialist announced on Thursday that the 104,623-dwt Blue Moon (built 2011) would be in Teekay's stead for two years with a 30-day buffer for $23,000 per day.
“Our commercial management strategy for our tanker vessels is focused mainly on spot market deployment via voyage charters or participation in aframax tanker pools that provide our shareholders with exposure to cyclical fluctuations in charter rates,” Performance Shipping chief executive Andreas Michalopoulos said.
