Performance Shipping’s decision to switch from containerships to tankers proved wise, to judge by the company’s second-quarter results released on Thursday.
The Simeon Palios-led owner of four aframaxes reported a bottom-line net income of $4.6m, compared with a net loss of $1.6m in the same period last year.
Performance Shipping's fleet had a completely different structure in the second half of 2019, when it consisted of four legacy containerships from the time when the company was still known as Diana Containerships.
