Panama has said an abandoned tanker that grounded in Liberia is no longer registered in the country.
Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) director general Fernando Solorzano said the registration of the 1,400-dwt Tamaya 1 (built 1980) was cancelled on 27 October last year.
This was due to its sale and transfer to Nigeria.
As of January, the Equasis database listed the tanker as being registered in Panama and owned by Tamaya Shipping Offshore of Lebanon.
