Mitsubishi Corp and its Chinese subsidiary Ivict (Shanghai) have become embroiled in a dispute with a Vietnamese shipowner over a cargo of Venezuelan methanol that was contaminated with seawater.
With insurance companies still bickering over the value of the claim, they have arrested an Ovtrans Petrol Transportation Services chemical/product tankers in Singapore while waiting for alternative security to be lodged for the dispute to go to arbitration.
