Japanese shipping company Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has been granted large loans by a number of Tokyo banks.
The Japan Bank for International Co-operation is leading a syndicated loan of JPY 12.6bn ($162m).
The Bank of Tokyo – Mitsubishi UJF and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp are also included in the syndicate.
NYK has ordered a new LNG carrier for long-term timecharter to Tokyo Electric Power Co.
