National Iranian Tanker Co (NITC) has gone on the hunt for VLCC and medium-range (MR) tanker newbuildings in a bid to renew part of its fleet.
An order could see it spend slightly more than $300m based on standard specifications, as it put out a tender for three VLCCs and two MR product tankers.
Shipbuilding sources say there are no specific delivery requirements but shipyards must submit their proposals by the end of this month.
