New York-listed NAT used its second quarter earnings report to shed light on a plan to install sliding valves on the main engines all 20 of its suezmax tankers over the next few months.
The shipowner said the modifications will help reduce bunker consumption by allowing the vessels to “safely slow steam whenever possible”.
“We are currently in the process of testing other fuel saving measures and expect to implement those measures having demonstrable gains in efficiency,” it added.
“In
