The blaze-hit VLCC Zoya 1 appears to be something of an enigma in the VLCC sector as little is known about its owner Ullib Shipping and its trading patterns since it was acquired in 2015.
Ullib Shipping paid a reported $20.8m for the 300,000-dwt Zoya 1 (built 1996, ex Samho Crown), and put it under the technical management of Aurum Ship Management, a United Arab Emirates (UAE) subsidiary of India’s Aurum Marine Services Management.
