Danish bunker and tanker group Monjasa has said "years of preparation" has paid off as it completed the first ship-to-ship transfer of low-sulphur fuel ahead of the IMO 2020 deadline.
Its 2,700-dwt tanker Vinga Safir (built 2000) went alongside Foreland Shipping's 23,200-gt freight ro-ro Hurst Point (built 2002) in Southampton on 29 August and pumped very low sulphur fuel oil (VLSFO) and 0.1%
