A Stamatis Molaris-managed tanker is said to have been damaged after coming under fire from pirates in the Somali Basin at the weekend.
The 47,200-dwt products tanker Doubtless is also said to have narrowly avoided hijacking after boarding attempts were made on Sunday.
About eight pirates in two skiffs attacked the 1991-built vessel with a hijacked Japanese ship understood to have been used as a mothership in the assault.
