Mercuria Energy Group has taken advantage of Brightoil Petroleum’s fleet auction to make its first expansion step since taking over the assets of Aegean Marine Petroleum Network, a bankrupt Greek bunker supplier.
Mercuria executives confirmed their group was the winning bidder in the Singapore auction for the 7,000-dwt sistership tankers Brightoil 639 and Brightoil 666 (both built 2013).
