Swedish tanker owner Marinvest is looking to sell its oldest vessel in an effort to further renew its fleet.

European brokers said the company is looking to sell its 22,800-dwt chemical tanker Marit (built 2001), which was built at Kitanihon Zosen shipyard in Japan.

The tanker is expected to fetch between $4m and $5m.

The Marit has been on long-term charter to the Canadian methanol producer Methanex, as have many as many of the tankers owned by Gothenburg-based Marinvest.
