Marinvest has reportedly disposed of one of its LR1 tankers as the Swedish private tanker owner increasingly concentrates on MR methanol-fuelled ships for charter to Methanex.
Brokers said the shipowner has sold the 75,000-dwt Maritina (built 2006) to an undisclosed buyer for $12.5m.
The price tag is within the wide range of expectations, with UK-based valuation platform VesselsValue estimating that the tanker is worth just $10.5m
