Direct loading of a VLCC at Louisiana Offshore Oil Port (LOOP) is to be only a “stopgap” solution in coping with rising US crude oil exports, according to Alphatanker.
The research firm said that while it marks a welcome development, in the long term it will be superseded by developments at other terminals better connected to serve US supply growth.
