Small Greek tanker player LL Energy has replaced a pre-2000-built aframax it sold last November, emerging as the buyer of a younger vessel auctioned in Singapore last week.
Managing director Ioannis Velentzas confirms that the Piraeus-based shipowner has acquired the 106,100-dwt Ocean Mare (ex-Amba Bhargavi, built 2006).
He has declined to comment on the price but brokers say the Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries-built vessel fetched $13.8m.
