Prime minister Ali Zeidan said the country is prepared touse force to prevent striking port workers from selling oil independently, severalmajor news outlets reported.

Protests against pay conditions have blockaded four of Libya’smajor ports, disrupting oil exports for several weeks.

"If the blockade of these oil terminals continues, thestate will be obliged to use its power, and all the forces at its disposal, includingthe army," Zeidan said, adding that vessels could be "bombed from thesea or the air".
