Kuwait Oil Tanker Co (KOTC) is expected to select a shipyard in the next two weeks to construct three VLGCs and one VLCC, and is limbering up to receive offers on smaller tankers.
Brokers say South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries is in pole position to scoop the job of building three gas carriers of around 84,000 cbm and one 317,000-dwt VLCC worth an estimated $370m in total.
