Koch Industries has chartered two Cido Shipping VLCCs as they leave the Maersk Tankers fleet in a deal that will see the US trader pay $42.3m in gross charter revenue.
Shipbroking sources say the 297,000-dwt Maersk Heiwa and Maersk Hayama (both built 2011) have been fixed for two years at about $29,000 per day each.
Koch and Cido, the Hong Kong-based shipowner, did not immediately respond to TradeWinds' request for comment.
