The 50-50 venture between Japanese shipowner NYK andHaugesund-based Knutsen Offshore Tankers, will convert a shuttle tanker backed by along-term charter.
French energy major Total will deploy the unit at the MartinLinge field off Bergen in the Norwegian North Sea upon delivery in 2016, NYKannounced today.
The charter contract runs for eight firm years with fouryearly options attached.
