KNOT Offshore Partners purchased a shuttle tanker from its parent the same day it reported that it more than doubled third-quarter profit.
The US-listed shipowner said it is paying nearly $117m to buy the 152,000-dwt Raquel Knutsen (built 2015) from Oslo-based Knudsen NYK Offshore Tankers (KNOT).
But the acquisition price is net of about $104m in outstanding debt on the ship.
The ship, which is deployed in Brazil, comes with a ten-year time charter to Repsol Sinopec Brasil.
