Japan’s largest shipowner Nissen Kaiun is said to have returned to Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) for a series of MR tanker newbuildings.
Shipbuilding sources said the Imabari-based shipping company has booked four 50,000-dwt product carriers with the South Korean shipyard for delivery between September and December 2024.
They added that Nissen Kaiun was the unnamed “African” company that HMD disclosed to the Seoul exchange last week.
