Iraq may reactivate long-dormant crude pipelines if tensions between the west and Iran result in a closure of the vital Strait of Hormuz.
A government spokesman said plans for alternative routes to the market include shipping more oil to Turkey's port of Ceyhan on the Med, as well as re-opening pipelines to Syria, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu in the Red Sea.
