Iranian tanker attacks said to be thwarted by US cyber efforts

A US cyber attack purportedly prevented Iran from attacking more tankers in the Middle East Gulf earlier this year.

After the Islamic republic allegedly sabotaged tankers this spring, the US cut off its military's access to data necessary to carry out the attacks, Council on Foreign Relations fellow Amy Jaffe said on a conference call regarding the killing of General Qassem Soleimani by the US last week.
