Indian shipowners are asking for a guaranteed 25% of all crude, LPG and bulk imports.
Companies have written to the ministry of shipping through the Indian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA), the Live Mint website reported.
They said the move would be "critical" as a means of cutting the number of unused ships.
