India wants to buy Russian oil only if it is supplied by companies and ships that are not on the ever-growing list of US sanctions, according to a senior official.
Officials told Reuters it is not worth the risk to India to deal with sanctioned ships because of the ability of the US to impose further measures against domestic business.
