Broking reports are rife this week with details of Pusaka Laut’s $68.5m sale of a modern aframax tanker to Eastern Pacific Shipping.
However, sources close to Idan Ofer-controlled Eastern Pacific vehemently deny that it has bought the 108,500-dwt Pusaka Java (built 2018) from Nissen Kaiun’s Singapore-based shipowning affiliate.
TradeWinds was told that Eastern Pacific was a front-runner when the ship was put up for sale via Japanese brokers in mid-June, but ultimately did not acquire it.
