Greek shipowners have invested over $1bn in refreshing their tanker fleets during a trough year for the market with four Hellenic owners each spending over $100m in the first nine months of 2018.
Many of the biggest spenders have also been active in clearing out older tankers in what has been a record year for tanker demolition.
