Glencore's ST Shipping has been active in the period market for MR tankers.
The operator has reportedly chartered as many as three ships in the sector, including from Greek owner Benetech Shipping.
The 50,000-dwt Galissas (built 2008) has been taken for one year at $13,500 per day with an option for a second year at $15,500 per day, European brokers said.
