Seafarers have managed to sail a Greek product tanker to safety despite being boarded by eight pirates in the Gulf of Guinea.
The 13,100-dwt Sea Phantom (built 2008) was attacked late on the night of 6 February, some 91 nautical miles (168 km) west of Bata, Equatorial Guinea. The incident took place inside the Sao Tome and Principe exclusive economic zone.
