Slashed charter-hire expenses and reduced interest payments helped Great Eastern (GE) Shipping Group to an increased profit in the second quarter.



The Indian tanker, bulker and offshore vessel owner did, however, see revenues slide as it also ran up larger foreign exchange losses.

The group as a whole posted a net profit of INR 1.69bn ($38.03m) in the three months to the end of September as against INR 1.08bn
