Libyan shipowner General National Maritime Transport Co (GNMTC) has fixed out three aframax tankers on period charters.
The 114,000-dwt Alhani (built 2007) and Samraa Alkhaleej (built 2006) are being taken by Trafigura for a year at $20,500 per day, according to European shipbrokers.
The two vessels have ice-class 1A notation, so they are able to fetch a premium of more than $5,000 per day over the prevailing market rate.
